OF THE WORKING CIRCLE
"INDIANS OF NORTH AMERICA (AKIN)

The Working Circle "Indians of North America" (AKIN) deals with the human rights work for the Indigneous Peoples of North America

The goal of AKIN is to replace the stereotypical images about "the Indians" which are predominant in Central Europe with information about actual social and political circumstances. In addition, through our political work, we want to support improvement of human rights situations of indigenous peoples as well as the acknowledgment of their ancestral rights locally.

Out of respect for indigenous peoples their spirituality is addressed only in context of political support work of the Working Circle in agreement with the affected indigenous people.

As a human rights organisation the Working Circle "Indians of North America" AKIN is strongly engaged for the political, cultural and economical freedom of indigenous peoples and therefore is positioned against any commercialisation, especially against western esoteric exploitation of indigenous religions.

AKIN recommends for a print medium the
quarterly magazine "Coyote" (in German only) published by "AGIM"
